Formula One: Button still out to do a Good Job

England’s Jenson Button has denied that he is lacking any motivation going into the final six races of the season and he has assured McLaren fans that he will continue to take pride in his work and give everything that he has for the team.

Button has endured a torrid season in 2013, and currently sits in ninth place in the Drivers’ Championship, a massive 193 points behind Sebastian Vettel. Despite the difficulties that he, and his McLaren team, has encountered this year, however, Button is still taking pride in his work.

“The motivation is definitely still there because you still want to do a good job in the races,” the 33 year old said, according to the Formula 1 betting page.“You don’t drive around waiting for next year. You still want to get the best result you can, do the best job you can, and get the most out of yourself for yourself and the team,” he added.

Button ended 2012 with a win in Brazil but so far this season he has failed to deliver a single podium finish, and this clearly a source of huge frustration for him.

“Obviously when you get out of the car and you are seventh it’s not where you want to be, and it’s not what gets you excited after a grand prix,” the 2009 World Champion said, although he could spare a thought for his teammate, Sergio Perez, who hasn’t finished above sixth place since joining McLaren earlier in the year.

Jenson Button’s next chance to make a mark on the 2013 season comes at the Korean Grand Prix on 6th October and, whilst it will be hard for people who bet on F1 to see the Englishman coming away with a win, he certainly has the ability and the hunger to make a push for the top three.
